KNOXVILLE -- Head coach Phillip Fulmer had mixed reviews after Tennessee's first scrimmage of the season on Saturday. ``They had good effort out there,'' he said. ``But there are a lot of things to work on.'' Fulmer's concerns focused on the offense's production, as well as on the defense's tackling. The offense was slow to start, but the Vols eventually totaled five touchdowns on the day, the first of which was a trick play. Placekicker James Wilhoit faked a field goal and holder Casey Woods threw to him for a 26-yard touchdown. After that, things settled into a more familiar routine. Starter Erik Ainge completed 13 of 26 passes for 120 yards but struggled under pressure with two interceptions. Ainge admitted he still has a long way to go.
