Making a list of Cal's top 10 football teams of all-time certainly isn't the kind of chore that would keep fans from Ohio State, Notre Dame or USC arguing for hours. Fact is, some of the teams on the list didn't even win a bowl game. Perhaps that is why Cal fans are so excited about this season's team, which is ranked No. 9 by The Associated Press and should be a Bowl Championship Series contender. No Cal team before 1916, when the football in Berkeley was more a form of rugby, was considered for this list. Here are my choices for Cal's top 10 teams.
