Rule allows grads play final year without wait

While his former Duke teammates have toiled in 90-degree heat and high humidity this month, Tyler Krieg has enjoyed the breeze off San Francisco Bay at the beginning of his senior season. "It's beautiful out here, a lot cooler here in the summer," Krieg said by telephone after a preseason practice with his new team, California. "All in all I'm kind of a West Coast kid." Krieg, an offensive guard from Tualatin, Ore., is at peace with a decision made possible by a new NCAA rule that has many coaches fuming.
