Cal cornerback Tim Mixon, a two-time All-Pac-10 honoree, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will be out for the season, coach Jeff Tedford said Friday. The senior from Compton injured his knee while returning a punt in Thursday's scrimmage. Tedford voiced his concern afterward since Mixon wasn't hit and the knee still gave out. Mixon would have been a four-year starter at corner and has a career punt-return average of 12.7 yards.
