Contra Costa Times: Mixon injured, `doesn't look good'

COACH TEDFORD HOPES TO NAME STARTING QB SOMETIME NEXT WEEK

Cal didn't escape its scrimmage Thursday without a serious injury. Senior cornerback Tim Mixon, who doubles as one of the top punt returners in the nation, hurt his right knee on a return. ``He wasn't hit,'' Coach Jeff Tedford said. ``He just planted his knee and it gave out. He is getting an MRI, but it doesn't look good.''
