AP: Wilhoit's touchdown steals show at Tennessee scrimmage

KNOXVILLE (AP) -- A touchdown on fake field goal was one of the biggest highlights from Saturday's football scrimmage at Tennessee. Meanwhile, quarterback Erik Ainge and the offense struggled with turnovers.  Coach Phillip Fulmer says he'll have to look at the film before making many conclusions about how the offense played. But he says it's good this was the first scrimmage.  Ainge was named the starter coming out of spring practice. He had two passes intercepted and no touchdowns.  Redshirt freshman Jonathan Crompton had two TDs and no interceptions.

The defense kept plenty of pressure on the offense and had eight sacks.  Kicker James Wilhoit caught a 26-yard pass from holder Casey Woods for a touchdown on the fake field goal
