Did you catch DeSean Jackson's 65-yard punt return during Cal's 45-24 demolition of Oregon at Memorial Stadium? That was the wildest run I've seen in Berkeley since The Play in 1982. And has a human ever run that fast without winning a medal? Jackson, you may recall, is the same dude who styled in the Army All-American Bowl two years ago, catching a long pass and then pulling a Reggie Bush dive into the end zone, but falling short of the goal line. He was ruled down and his team was flagged 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct. But, you know, Jackson was still named MVP of the game. By the way, Cal's quarterback is Nate Longshore. I'm wondering if any of the brainiacs at Berkeley have taken to attending games in navy pea coats and wool caps and calling themselves "Nate's Longshoremen." If this isn't happening, it should be. Can we make this happen?
