BURT TOLER:

The Contra Costa Times reports that Ex-Cal Bear Toler signed with the San Jose SaberCats.  Toler (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) attended Bishop O'Dowd High School before moving on to Cal. In 41 games with the Bears he had 69 catches for 873 yards. Last season, he signed with the Raiders and spent time on their practice squad.

 

AARON RODGERS:

Rodgers is sitting through his second season with the Packers, who are not giving him significant playing time prior to his inevitable start.  Don Banks of Sports Illustrated wrote in his “Ten burning NFL questions” story on October 10^th:

Q: Which future-looking personnel move should be made now?

A: Aaron Rodgers for Brett Favre in Green Bay. Sorry, Brett, but it's time to put the team's long-term needs ahead of what amounts to your (non)victory lap in Titletown. The more the Packers can find out about Rodgers this year, the more they'll know where they stand at the game's most pivotal position heading into 2007. Favre said it best himself, after Green Bay's loss to St. Louis at Lambeau on Sunday, a game in which his fumble cost the Packers a chance to tie or go ahead inside the final three minutes: "You've to try to find positives in all these negatives. I wonder, sometimes, what I'm doing here.''  So do we, Brett. So do we.

 

KYLE BOLLER:

After replacing an injured Steve McNair last weekend, Kyle Boller went 17 for 21, and threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns in a losing effort against the Carolina Panthers.  However, AP reported yesterday that Steve McNair is expected to recover from his concussion and neck sprain in time for the Raven’s next game, and McNair remains the starting quarterback.
