Utah Daily Herald: Cal to Beat USC

Here is the link.

3. Last Saturday, Cal was dominant in a somewhat surprising rout of Oregon. With USC struggling against middle-of-the-Pac-10 teams, is Cal ready to take over as the conference's top dog? Or will USC right the ship and hold onto its conference crown?

Judd: USC is ripe for an upset, and I think Cal has the weapons to knock the Trojans into second place in the Pac-10. Nate Longshore and Marshawn Lynch have the Golden Bear offense rolling, and DeSean Jackson is a dangerous threat as both wideout and as a returner. The past few weeks, the Trojans have struggled to put up points on teams they should be beating convincingly, averaging only 21.3 points per game in their last three contests, while giving up 15 ppg in that same span. While Cal must travel to L.A. in November for its matchup with USC, this Golden Bear team seems poised to take control of the conference.

Cowley: I hate to bet against USC. They still have the most talent in the Pac-10. But they're playing with fire right now and Cal looks very impressive (how much of a fluke was the season-opening loss to Tennessee?) I thought Oregon was going to win last week and Cal decimated the Ducks. I think Cal has more confidence and momentum right now than USC and if things continue like this, the Golden Bears will beat USC in November and win the Pac-10.
