Santa Clarita Signal: Nate Longshore for Heisman

Here is the link.

OK, so it may be a year early to start the campaign, but Canyon High graduate Nate Longshore has put up some of the best numbers in the country among passers.  Longshore, a 2004 Canyon High graduate, is having a stellar season for the 11th ranked California Golden Bears.  He is 17th in the nation in passer rating at 156.55, 15th in passing yardage at 1,586 and tied for fifth in touchdown passes at 17.  On Oct. 5, he appeared on ESPNEWS' "The Hot List."  If you picked Sports Illustrated's Oct. 9 issue, you would have seen Longshore featured in the magazine's "Who's Hot" list.

It might be the first time the magazine has given a Santa Claritan such acclaim since Hart grad Joe Kapp was on the cover of the magazine July 20, 1970. Kapp, by the way, played quarterback at Cal.
