Seattle Post Intelligencer: Husky QB's Injury Sparks Call for Locker to See Action

The quarterback debate was already raging in the parking lot of Husky Stadium on Saturday night after Washington's 27-17 loss to Oregon State. Over the weekend, it only intensified on the message boards of fan Web sites.  Starting quarterback Isaiah Stanback left the game on a cart in the fourth quarter with what coach Tyrone Willingham described as a right foot injury.  Television replays of the gruesome incident -- and the way Stanback lay in agony on the turf -- made the injury look serious.  Carl Bonnell has been Stanback's backup all season, but fans want to know if true freshman Jake Locker is ready. They want to know if the high school All-American out of Ferndale can lead the Huskies to a bowl game and a promising recruiting season. The only answer they are going to get from Willingham is that if Stanback is down -- which Willingham said he wouldn't know for certain for "a couple of days" -- Bonnell will be the starting quarterback.
