Seattle Post Intelligencer: Big Time QB Troubles at Washington

Molly Yanity, the Washington Huskies reporter for the Seattle Post Intelligencer, reports in her blog that “Neither the injured Isaiah Stanback nor true freshman Jake Locker are listed at quarterback on the Huskies depth chart, released this morning.  As listed, Carl Bonnell is listed as the starter with Johnny DuRocher serving as his backup. Both are juniors.    Stanback injured his right foot in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 27-17 loss to Oregon State. Coach Tyrone Willingham had no details after the game, but the TV replay and Stanback's obvious pain indicated the injury could be serious.”

Other problems noted by Molly:

* Sophomore Michael Gottlieb is listed as the starting tight end. Gottlieb had been out with a broken hand, but did start against Oregon State. Johnie Kirton had been starting in his stead.

*At defensive end, Greyson Gunheim "or" Brandon Ala will get the start. Gunheim left Saturday's game for a spell with a bruised knee.

*There is still question in the secondary. Dashon Goldson hurt his ankle, but came back in the game and is listed at both the corner spots. Cornerback Roy Lewis bruised his knee. If Lewis can't start, Goldson will and Matt Fountaine will start at the other spot. If Lewis goes, Goldson will start on the opposite side. Free safety Jason Wells, who missed the game with a concussion is expected to be back.
