NO. 10 CALIFORNIA GOLDEN BEARS: Cal's mercurial rise from #16 to the Top Ten following their impressive dismantling of the Oregon Ducks just goes to prove that an early loss in the season to a ranked team will usually not ruin your national title hopes...redshirt soph QB Nate Longshore continues to mature and produce (14-26, 189 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, and one rushing TD)...his vast array of weaponry forces opponents to pick their poison...DeSean Jackson (2 grabs, 77 yards, 1 TD)...Justin Forsett (27 rushes, 163 yards, 1 TD, 6.1 ypc)...Marshawn Lynch (7 carries, 50 yards, 7.1 ypc)...most impressive stats in the big Quack Crasher? Cal's defense picked off Dennis Dixon three times while also managing to hold the remarkable Jonathan Stewart to 25 yards on 18 carries--a career low 1.4 yards per carry average...the Bears are flying high again, but there's an early Halloween fright night planned for them up in Pullman this weekend...just ask USC.
