GAME WILL BE TELEVISED AT MEMORIAL STADIUM COMPLIMENTS OF SLINGBOX

Cal-Washington State Game Will Be Shown on Memorial Stadium Scoreboard

Slingbox Technology allows Washington State scoreboard feed to be shown in Berkeley

BERKELEY - After a successful Friday morning test, the technology is in place for California athletics to provide the scoreboard feed from Washington State's Martin Stadium directly to the Memorial Stadium scoreboard in Berkeley for a live "broadcast" of this Saturday's college football game between the two schools. California is using the Slingbox, an award-winning consumer electronics product from San Mateo-based Sling Media, Inc., to redirect the feed via the internet to a computer connected to the Memorial Stadium scoreboard on game day.

"As an alumnus of California and a huge Bears football fan, I am thrilled to see the Slingbox technology deliver this weekend's games to the hometown fans," said Jason Krikorian, co-founder of Sling Media, Inc. "We created the Slingbox in part to bring fans closer to their favorite sports teams and this is a great example of that. All of us at Sling Media are looking forward to game day."  Fans are invited to come to Memorial Stadium FREE of charge to watch the feed on Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. Along with the video, the Golden Bear Radio Network audio feed will be provided as veteran play-by-play man Joe Starkey calls the action with Troy Taylor providing analysis and Todd McKim handling sideline updates.

Fans are asked to please enter through the south or north gates only. Bags will be checked. All seating will be open in the stadium, however, fans are encouraged to bring food and drinks as concession stands will not be open. There will be no alcohol allowed and field access will also be prohibited.

Cal reminds fans that this will be the Washington State scoreboard feed; "Go Bears" cheers are strongly encouraged despite any contradictory scoreboard messages coming from Pullman.
