Boston Globe: The Mighty Have Fallen

Here is the link.

Cal-related excerpt:

“No. 3 USC had its second consecutive close encounter of the best kind, pulling out a 26-20 victory over Washington, with the Huskies inside the Trojans' 20 when the clock ran out. The Trojans had a similar scare last week at Washington State in holding on for a 28-22 victory . . . With apologies to USC, which hasn't lost a Pac-10 game in three years, the best team in the conference might be California, which rolled over Oregon, 45-24. Since being embarrassed (35-18) at Tennessee in its season opener, Cal, which wore new ``Roller Derby"-type uniforms against the Ducks, has won by scores of 42-17, 42-16, 49-21, 41-13, and now 45-24. While Bears coach Jeff Tedford won't talk yet about the Nov. 18 showdown at USC, he was happy to comment on the new uniforms. ``I think we'll keep them for a while," he said.”
