SF Chronicle: Maligned receiving corps redeems itself

Junior tailback Marshawn Lynch broke three tackles and continued to plow through everyone in front of him, including teammate Lavelle Hawkins, on a 15-yard run in the second quarter.

Hawkins got up gingerly, and Minnesota had to be appreciative. The Gophers hadn't figured out how to stop Cal's speedy receivers in the Bears' 42-17 win Saturday.  The trio of Hawkins, DeSean Jackson and Robert Jordan combined for 282 yards and four touchdowns on 20 receptions in inspired performances a week after the unit was called out for dropping balls and missing blocking assignments.
