Las Vegas Bowl sells out
LAS VEGAS (AP) - A record crowd will see the BYU Cougars take on the Golden Bears of Cal. The Las Vegas Bowl to be played Dec. 22 at Sam Boyd Stadium sold out for the first time in its 14-year history, organizers announced Friday. Tina Kunzer-Murphy, executive director of the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl, said 40,000 tickets have been sold for the game between BYU (6-5 overall and 5-3 in the Mountain West Conference) and Cal, which finished fourth in the Pac-10 with a 4-4 record, 7-4 overall. Last year a record in-house crowd of 27,784 saw Wyoming defeat UCLA, 24-21. The game, which is set for 5 p.m. PST, will be televised nationally by ESPN.
