Tucson Citizen: UA's Tuitama OK in the Pocket

Arizona quarterback Willie Tuitama is not worried about getting a third concussion, and it shows. Only once in the 27-17 victory over Washington State did the sophomore quarterback look a little fearful.  With pass-rushing specialist Mkristo Bruce just a few footsteps away, Tuitama rushed his throw, flinched and fell voluntarily to the ground. An interception resulted on that first-quarter play. He shook that play off and had a solid game, 10 of 17 passes for 159 yards to lead the Wildcats to the upset win.  "I'm sure it was hard for him to get back out there," UA coach Mike Stoops said. "On the one boot pass he looked a bit iffy. He saw the guy coming in his face and it was the same play he has gotten hit on two other times. I thought he really settled down and reacted well after that.  "I was worried after he threw the interception to see how he would come back. He did some nice things at the line that got us out of some plays. It is a maturing factor he has to go through."

Pac-10's best set to meet in UA-California game

Arizona cornerback Antoine Cason will have his hands full with California's pass catching combination of Nate Longshore and DeSean Jackson. The matchups should be fun to watch as all three were honored by the Pac-10 as its players of the week. Cason, with six tackles (five solo) and two pass breakups in the victory over Washington State, was named the defensive honoree. Longshore garnered the offensive award after completing 20 of 24 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-24 win over UCLA. Longshore's touchdowns of 10, 24 and 44 yards sparked the Bears for a big second half. It is the third time this season he has been given the weekly award. Jackson is always a force as a wide receiver, but it was his 72-yard punt return for a touchdown that earned him the special teams honor. It was his third punt return for a score this season, and fourth in his career, which ties a Pac-10 record in both categories.

Arizona's Patrick will play despite shoulder injury

Arizona free safety Dominic Patrick will miss a couple days of practice with a stinger (neck/shoulder injury) suffered against Washington State.

The junior is expected to play against No. 8 California on Saturday.

UA nickel back Marcus Hollingsworth is slowed by a foot injury, while backup left guard Adam Hawes has a foot injury that might keep him out of the Cal game.
