This is probably more stupid than brave, but we're opting to stay on California's bandwagon. For one, there's plenty of elbow and leg room as we careen back into the safe confines of Strawberry Canyon. That doesn't mean, however, that there's no need to look around for an alternative team, particularly if the Golden Bears take us, who picked them to win the Pac-10, for granted and follow up their disastrous trip to Tennessee by feeling sorry for themselves and subsequently lose to Minnesota at home Saturday. The obvious Plan B is USC, which jumped to No. 3 in both national polls after making Arkansas squeal like a pig. Despite losing a College Football Hall of Fame of talent on offense, the Trojans appear poised to again run the table and play for a national title.
