New Hampshire Union Leader: Breaking Down Crazy Road to BCS Title

Here is the link.

“California's a different story. The Golden Bears (5-0) were ranked 12th in the AP's preseason poll. South Florida and Kentucky were afterthoughts. While No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 4 Florida and No. 5 West Virginia broke down, Cal stayed in gear and passed them all with a 31-24 road win at then No. 11 Oregon. The Golden Bears jumped three spots this week to No. 3, their highest ranking since 1952, when they held the No. 3 spot for two consecutive weeks.  If the history of 55 years ago were to repeat itself, Cal would lose to UCLA, USC and Washington, and the Golden Bears would fall out of the ranks altogether. No chance. Jeff Tedford has his Bears too well tuned.  But a flat tire is bound to occur somewhere along the spike-riddled Pac-10 fast track -- at UCLA, Arizona State or Washington, or at home against No. 2-ranked USC. And that would take Cal out of the title chase.”
