Former Canyon quarterback Nate Longshore had a successful outing when he led the University of California Bears to a 24-14 victory over Arizona State on Saturday. Longshore passed for 198 yards and three touchdowns in his return to the starting lineup. Also making a huge showing in the Bears' win was former Valencia running back Shane Vereen who had 27 carries for 93 yards and five receptions for 51 yards.
Vereen's former teammate Shane Morales had four receptions for 61 yards and one touchdown in Oregon State's 31-28 loss to Utah.
