Preparation for the Cal Bears football season took shape in their Thursday evening practice. The timing and confidence of young players is improving daily.
Despite occasional misfires by both QBs Nate Longshore and Joe Ayoob, timing patterns and deep passes that missed their mark in earlier practices are now finding their way to their intended receivers.
Young defensive backs showed flashes of athletic talent and played with more confidence and consistency. The defensive line is gaining consistent pressure against one of the nation’s best offensive lines.
Talented young receivers are running crisper routes and becoming more integrated into the game plans.
