Nice support in Berkeley
One guy who might also be glad to be in Pullman is Cal quarterback Nate Longshore. Once the starter who lost the job this season, Longshore was booed off the field after being in for two series against Michigan State. Granted, both series ended with interceptions thrown by Longshore, one ending a potential scoring drive, the other returned for a touchdown by the Spartans. But boo one of their own? After deciding that sophomore Kevin Riley won the quarterback competition in the preseason, Cal coach Jeff Tedford said that Longshore would still play in the game Saturday. Well, Cal fans should be assured Tedford made the correct choice. Still, that response from the fans is cold, and Riley was on the sidelines gesturing for them to temper their angry display.
“I don’t think it’s really respectful of the fans to boo one of our players,” Riley told the Contra Costa Times newspaper. “They don’t even know what happened on the (interceptions). ... He went in there and did his best. Things didn’t work out the way he wanted them to. That’s about it.” Yeah, until Longshore’s next interception. Or the next time he takes the field in Berkeley.

I agree, you don't boo your own players like that. However, I doubt Oregon/Oregon ST fans should be talking.
longshore gave us bear fans some hope when the alternative was ayoob. i was disgusted when the booing started.
Why is the press spreading this B.S.???? Longshore was not booed! The crowd (from my vantage point in the middle of the student section) was booing the Michigan State cheerleaders and flag bearer that were running across OUR FIELD! We ALWAYS boo the opposition when they run across our field.
