What happened last year: The Bears were on the verge of being the No. 1 team in the country last year before a loss to Oregon State sent them on a tailspin that resulted in six losses in seven games.
Why it should be better: Cal coach Jeff Tedford knows that mental toughness is the biggest explanation for what happened last season so he has worked on it this summer. He also has a strong defense back and you know Tedford will find a way to score points.
