Crimson White: SEC East Ready for Football Season

Here’s the link.

Tennessee

After a 5-6 season in 2005, the Tennessee Volunteers rebounded last season for a 9-4 improvement, and they certainly hope to keep it up in 2007, especially with returning veteran quarterback Erik Ainge.   "When you have a veteran quarterback, you hope to be able to build your offense around him, particularly when he's got the ability of an Erik," head coach Phil Fulmer said. "I mentioned the no huddle a ... Erik ran it as a freshman actually. But his experience, his ability, his ability to get the ball out quickly and on time, understand where it needs to go, will give us a head start on being a good offensive football team."  Tennessee will have to open their season on the West Coast against California. Linebacker Jerod Mayo says his team is working hard to prepare for the first game.  "I'm real excited. I have never been to the West Coast," Mayo said. "Cal has a great lineup, and they have a great atmosphere. Their guys are playmakers. Nate Longshore is a great back, Ben Olsen at quarterback. At the same time, our coaches will have a great scheme in place to stop them. We just have to take on the role."
