The Decauter Daily: Analysis of Alabama's Coaching Candidates

Here is the link.

Jeff Tedford

Why he's a hot candidate: In his fifth season at Cal, he has won 41 games, including 10 in 2004.

Why he would take the job: Tedford won't have to worry about recruiting against Southern California anymore.  His dynamic offense and ability to tutor quarterbacks — Tedford students as an assistant and head coach include Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, Kyle Boller and Aaron Rodgers — make him a hot commodity.

Why he wouldn't take the job: Cal's $120 million facility upgrade is under way and Tedford has also built a name for himself in Berkeley.  Take into account that it's easier to win in the Pac-10 than the SEC.

Cooper's take: Tedford has not denied reports that Alabama is interested in him, yet. The Tide got burned once with another West Coast guy — Mike Price — and doesn't appear ready to go down that road again.
