San Antonio Express News: Top Weekend Games

Here’s the link.

In Saturday's other featured game, No. 17 California and No. 4 Southern California will meet at the Los Angeles Coliseum for the Pac-10's BCS berth.  California had legitimate national title hopes quashed last week by a gambling, blitzing Arizona defense. Quarterback Nate Longshore will see more of the same from USC coach Pete Carroll's defense, which is playing better than at any time this season.  A key for California coach Jeff Tedford will be to involve California running back Marshawn Lynch more than last week, when he carried the ball only 16 times against Arizona. The Bears must be balanced against USC if they hope to claim their first victory there since 2000.  USC's backfield is banged-up with Chauncey Washington, Emmanuel Moody and C.J. Gable all iffy for Saturday's game. Those injuries might cause USC quarterback John David Booty to look to the air more than usual. The Trojans will try to avoid California cornerback Daymeion Hughes, picking on the other cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson from the start of the game.  With USC's title hopes buoyed by all the losses of other contenders last week, don't expect it to fall into the same trap – especially at home. The Trojans will cruise to 34-24 victory and keep their BCS hopes alive heading into another critical game next week against Notre Dame.
