Thoughts on the Emerald Bowl

1.    I can’t wait until next year to watch Jahvid Best.

2.    Zack Follett is a stud, and he’ll definitely be missed.  Hopefully it won’t be another rebuilding year on defense.

3.    I really like Longshore as a person.  But watching him play the entire game really left a bad taste in my mouth.  The passing game was non-existent.  Several of Longshore’s passes looked like they were tipped, even though they weren’t…they just sailed off to invisible receivers.  I truly do not believe that Anthony Miller was the intended receiver for the final go-ahead touchdown.

4.    Thank god that Miami’s coach doesn’t put up with bad behavior and rule breaking.  If Miami had its QB and its other suspended players, I don’t think we would have won.  Our passing game was that bad.

5.    It was good to have a bowl win, but aside from Jahvid Best and the defense, it was an ugly game to watch.

I agree with your take home points, and would like to sincerely thank you for the time and effort you have placed into this blog this season. Here we go into another off season of wondering. I sure hope the receiving game gets figured out for next year, that the O-line is better, and that the D is OK. With that being the case, we should be a 10-2 team and who knows?

Given their unsettled situation at QB and the inexperience of their receiving corp, 9 wins and 4 competitive losses is a major accomplishment for what essentially was a one dimensional offensive team that had to rely on the defense to come up big. I agree with your comments regarding Nate. It is still a mystery to me how Nate went from a confident top 5 pro prospect that could make every throw to being pedestrian at best. Part of the blame falls on Tedford for his inconsistent handling of the situation. I hope the Bears will resolve their QB position well before the first game of the season.

Thank you for the time you've put into this blog as this Roseville denizen appreciates the one stop site for Cal news. Keep up the good job. Go Bears!

did it look like all the cal players were slippin and stumbling around? javhid, boateng, longshore (not sure if one of his lineman stepped on his foot) its like they weren't used to the grass.
