Rob Calogne
The Cal football team, high on their 52-13 opening night victory over Maryland, had what could be considered a conditioning practice on Sunday. The media was allowed to watch, nobody had pads on, and there was plenty of running--they just weren't running any plays.
After practice, Coach Tedford spoke with the media. Here are some of the notes and quotes from that session. Verran Tucker was in a boot, but it's nothing serious. Tedford said that he has a bruised calf and that being in the boot will help to alleviate some of the stress from walking or standing so that he can heal. Other injuries suffered from the game? Only the two that he had mentioned in his postgame press conference: Spencer Ladner (knee) and Sean Cattouse (concussion).
Ladner's knee will be evaluated on Tuesday. He was on the field with his knee wrapped and on crutches. Interesting to note that he also wasn't putting any pressure whatsoever on that leg.
